Riverview Hotel, Tarwin Lower with Should

A mix of poor stage sound, bad amplifier placement, out of tune guitars, a rotten set list, free beer and one of the worst encores in the history of rock music...

These were the key elements in a rather poor performances by the gavsters at the Riverview hotel.
The show began in style, with the rock sensibilities of Should. Playing a set list chock-full of home backed favourites, as well as a handful of fresh new gear, the band played their first gig in months like they'd been touring for 2 years.

Then came gavin...

After breaking a string before even strumming a note on his guitar, Gru was off to a fine start. A last minute string change was carried out and the band (Gru mainly) finally started with a tremendously brave attempt at playing completely out of tune. The song was Secret Things but the on-stage feelings were no secret.
Picture Perfect came up next, and although the sound was close to dismal, you couldn't ignore the electrifying on-stage power. There were jumps, kicks, heads banging, dancing and screams. There was even a new song previewed, a track titled "T". It was far from professional but was well received and will no-doubt become a gavin regular.

Then the band decided to do an encore...

The Motley Crue styled Green Children was the choice - and what a choice it was.... But "No, don't stop there!", you've still got a little more credibility to lose... Come back on for a second encore. The "we'll never play that again" song - Shadow Warriors was next. My god. The worst air guitar solos, every dodgy rock move in history, what more could a crowd want? Only to have gavin off the stage and in their cars, and back to whichever mental institution they came from... hehe. But seriously, well done to Should for a top gig!!!
