"Gavin sneak into derby"
Gig: 29th April 2000 - Royal Derby Hotel    Reviewed: Mon, 9th Dec 2002 by a concerned punter

29th April 2000
Royal Derby Hotel, Fitzroy with Sneak

The crowd were shouting for blood by the time gavin entered the ring

The gig at the Royal Derby Hotel was a very impressive display of gavin's public relation skills...
Completely destroying any stage setup that Sneak had, gavin put their equipment on the stage with the finesse of any stuck up, up-and-coming rock arseholes. The acts of total disregard didn't stop there with the band and all their fans (what there is of them) taking refuge in the back stage area strategically before Sneak had to retrieve their gear from this location to put on stage.

Anyway, with a crowd a great deal larger than that of the main band, gavin ploughed their way through their ever strengthening set list with a surprisingly good response from the crowd for their first Melbourne appearance in about 12 months. The highlights of the gig having to be the ever-appreciated Leigh rocking up from the Motorace gig at the Everlyn to do lights, and Pre_Shrunk's mixer doing his dial stuff for the gavsters.

All round a great start to the long list of Melbourne dates coming up in the next few months.

Sneak thought they also had a right to use the back stage area - Gavin thought "Pig's Arse"...
