Gavin proved they still have
what it takes to get those young kids rockin' at a recent Freeza gig at
Toora hall, Toora. Supporting a bunch of heavy ass Slipknot-Korn crazed
maniacs, gavin diluted the teenage angst with a mix of pop-rock perfection
and had all but the bad-assed bands themselves dancing it on.
Opening the set was
Secret Things,
with its hard rock intro and relatable theme, the crowd were instantly
puzzled by these once teenage melancholy balladeers.
The moody but powerful I want to believe
saw a sentimental side of the adolescents appear, that was thought to be extinct.
The power pop antics of Orange Slime and
A Tale of Two Cities filled the kids with enough fizzy-lifting
drink to blast Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to the moon. As did the
now well rehearsed To Catch A King.
And if you thought it
was impossible to dance to Matthew - Toora Hall
proved that you are very much mistaken.

how much would you

Gavin didn't
completely leave their "heavy funk, it's only a phase" crew completely
in the lurch, treating them shortly to the 80's heavy metal composition
The Green Children and
the rap-crap ridiculousness of Shadow Warriors.
Earning a new
respect among the hundreds of young Toora Teenagers, gavin are worth four
stars at this five-star gig...
